PAPAYA - Health Benefits and Nutritional Facts

PAPAYA, Scientific Name :  Carica Papaya
First cultivated in Mexico, PAPAYA has many uses. It is, of course, primarily a food and it can be eaten ripe and raw. No cooking needed for ripe ones, but raw Papayas are to be cooked. One famous Filipino dish with raw Papaya is the Tinolang Manok (Chicken dish).

Aside from being a food, Papaya is used as an ingredient in making soap. The stem and bark are also used in rope production.
