GRAPES : Health Benefits and Nutritional Facts

GRAPES, Scientific Name :  Carica Papaya
First cultivated in Southern Turkey, GRAPES is now being grown throughout the world. In fact, close to 76,000 square kilometers of the world is dedicated to its cultivation with Spain and France dedicating the most area to Grapes-cultivation (11,750 sq.km and 8,640 sq.km., respectively). More than half of harvested Grapes (71%) are used for wine-making.

Health Benefits from GRAPES

  • Resveratrol - an anti-oxidant present in Grapes' skin, are known to combat Skin Cancer and Colon Cancer
  • the same Resveratrol is said to be the reason for the French Paradox - being that the French, with high content of animal fat in their diet, surprisingly has lower incidence of heart disease. This is attributed to the French's fondness of wine
  • people who drink grape juice frequently are 70% less likely to develop Alzheimer's disease
  • since it also has fair amount of Vitamin C, it will provide boost our immune system
